Ordered some physically smaller resistors, will assemble my second power board with them.
The 5 scope traces I posted yesterday are pretty much what I would expect with everything working properly, it's only the addition of the big toroid that makes things go sideways. Switching noise going where it shouldn't has to be a possibility.
