Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Just been reviewing my fuel (propane) bill....
Last year, for 8 weeks from 10-June my energy costs were $1391
This year, for 7 weeks from 11-June my energy costs were $443
Given I'm totally off-grid, this represents all the electricity for two home offices, the workshop, large house, all the hot water, everything.
Oh, and last year we had 2 adults and one late teenager living here, this year it's 3 adults and the late-teenager, plus we've had more heavy fogs this year than anyone can remember. 3 out of every 4 days have seen us plunged into gloomy yuck with little or no PV until lunch time most days (some days the fog never lifted at all).
The difference? I bought/installed/connected 3kW(p) of solar....
At this rate, payback in under 2 years....
