I was just reading up on some maby rubbish ? sun flare can anybody tell me if this will cook my pv panils/ inverter/ batterybank??? I don'y want to start a doom and (gloom thread) ![]() shawn |

I would say you have nothing to worry about. Fortunately our little rock has a relatively strong magnetic field to shield us microbes from the effects of solar flares. A big flare can upset some satelites, but most are built to withstand that sort of thing. Here on the surface, you would need a big aerial, like a power grid hundred of km long, before you need to worry about flares. Local weather events are much likely to cause damage to a small system like yours, like hail or lightning. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.
