Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi all!
What is your opinion of the IMEON 3.6 inverter? It has a built in MPPT charge controller, so you do not need to buy one. It is grid-tied, but will do what is needed and gives preference to direct solar usage with battery charging and excess to the grid.
Is it a good buy or do you have reservations?
They give a 5 year warranty which may be extended to 10 years.
Look at the following and tell me what you think, please.

Thanks! You don't have success until you've tried it!

Well, it looks like a clever box of electronics. Certainly using any power you generate rather than stuffing it back into the grid is a good idea IF you get less for it compared with what you pay for it.
As my next battery bank for my off-grid system will be LiFePO4 I am surprised that they don't offer that battery option.
Solar is the way to go and if you need some backup when the grid fails it looks like a good option.
Talk to them about LiFePO4 and do some research on using them.

Having a bit of trouble understanding what they getting at here.
Are they suggesting that your solar panel capacity requirement is reduced because you are connected to the grid? Well, it would cost me $20,000 to get connected so I would say that they didn't factor that into their overall "efficiency percentage"!
