I have two 90 watt solar panels in parralell for a 12 volt system.
Recently I noticed that they have stopped working.

However if I short the wires together for a moment or connect a 50 watt bulb across them, then after 15 to 20 seconds the panels start to work.
I must do this procedure every day between 9 and 10 am to get them up and working.
They have good output until sundown.

I have developed a major back problem and cannot walk let alone get up on the roof.
Is there anyone near Toowoomba in Qld who may be generous enough to come and have a go at them for me, Please?
Coffee will be supplied.

I'm heading down to nsw to rego my sisters car tomorrow, but probably back Sat (if it doesnt need repairs), if noone else has a chance before I get back, be happy to lend a hand (only about 20 min away)

sounds like a classic dry jointed connection.

the other thing it might be is water inside the cable, I see it a lot with satellite cables, a parrot will take a little nip at the outer sheath up on the roof and the water will run down and fill up the cable inside then the DC will rust the core away.

I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not...
