Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.
I have a 3 phase bore pump of unknown brand, model or rating and would like to know how much power it uses. Can I use my clamp meter to measure the current running through one active phase wire in the fuse box and then just multiply by 3 and then by 240V to get watts consumed or is there another/better/accurate DIY method? My roadside utility meter only reads to the nearest 1kWh which is not accurate enough. Edited 2020-09-11 18:42 by greg199

Rather than telling you, why not google '3 phase power calculation'?. This way you might learn something rather than being told. And no, its not 3 times what you plan to measure.
