Hi all,
I have just spent many hours, unsuccessfully, trying to find a chart to convert Australian wire sizes to AWG.
Can anyone help with the AWG equivelants to the following

7/0.20
14/0.20
24/0.20
32/0.20
40/0.20

Or can anyone point me at a chart that will tell me.

This is a bit tricky, because most common wire charts only refer to converting single stranded wire.

But anyhow, starting with a single 0.2mm squared strand.
The diameter of that would be 0.5048mm or very close to 0.02 inches diameter = 20 thou.

Converting that area to circular mils 20 x 20 = 400
(one circular mill is the area of one round conductor .001 inches diameter)

7 strands 7 x 400 = 2,800 circular mils

14 strands 14 x 400 = 5,600 circular mils

24 strands 24 x 400 = 9,600 circular mils

32 strands 32 x 400 = 12,800 circular mils

40 strands 40 x 400 = 16,000 circular mills

Now to convert circular mils to the closest AWG, you can use this table:
