found a autofridge out the dump a while back and checked the controller but it has no output even though there power coming out of the ic going to the 2 power transistors so im wondering how do i do a ohms test on the compressor to know it wont smoke up a new controller before i buy a new controller.has anyone here got a link for a 12v 4 wire controller?

was reading on another site about the atuofridge that is a eutectic type and they said to keep the eutectic fluid working ok you have to freeze it often per year so the fluid remains ok.with that said the fridge i have hasnt been used for years but id still like to keep the compressor if it was ok so does anyone like say yahoo know how to test the compressors before i go and pay $$ for a 4 pin controller??

Assuming your comp is a BD3 or BD2.5 4Pin.(BD35F is 3pin)12 volt Black to Brown 0.2 ohm, Blue to Brown 0.2 ohm Black to Yellow 2.7 ohm. These are comp winding resistance measurements with elect removed. Wiring goes Yellow top left, Black top right, Blue Bottom left, Brown Bottom right with comp upright and looking at conx.

The eutectic in the autofridge was a paste on evap plate not a liquid ie the ones I`d worked on. The early ones could not handle rough roads and developed a leak in the evaps, again my experience.
The danfoss comp is nearly indestructable thus there is a good chance yours is ok if the internals have not been exposed to moisture ingress if the unit has a leak.
