I want to solder copper wire to some stainless steel tubing to increase the surface area I'm working on a regenerative cooler any tips on the best way to ataxic copper wire to the stainless steel tubing would just plain soldering work

I'm trying to create feigns to increase the surface area

Is the copper wire insulated (varnish coated) or plain copper?

Both copper and stainless steel will take lead/tin solder quite happily provided you use adequate flux. Zinc chloride (killed spirit) will work well especially with a solder or tin paste.

Would it be easier to make or obtain some stainless washers and fit them to the tube as fins? what is the tube diameter and length?
