Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Not sure what to make of it, but was called to be silly because I am looking
for US socket to Australia plug adaptor.
Fellow told me that all he does is slightly twists plug pins changing from
US parallel to Australian angled configuration,
and the only thing to look for is wattage to be 220V not 110V
Sounds fair enough if it can be done this way.
Does anybody have any experience with this issue?George

Depends what it is. The switchmode charger that came with my tablet is a multi-country system, so it can take 110V, or 220V, or whatever inbetween. It also came with a number of clip on adapters to suit the power plug of the country, but you can buy adapters at pretty much any travel/camping store or dick smith (if you don't mind paying through the nose) or jaycar. Most rely on the device being capable of running on either voltage.

I just twist the pins slightly with the plies, works well for me and i have been doing it for years.
Also much neater than using ugly power adaptor gender changer plugs.
Pete.Sometimes it just works

Thanks for help.
Looks that fellow was 100% right.
Since plug is melted on the cable I was going to cut it and replace with Australian plug, as adaptors hardly ever sell under $7.
Slightly twisting pins sounds like the cheapest option.
