Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I asked Gizmo if this would be OK to post so here it is I have no affiliation with this company in any way except having bought one of their new GPO's to have fitted at my sisters (expected arrival in a couple of weeks)
Mine is going to be one of their semiprototype early ones afaik they are still tooling up so large numbers arent available yet
But having fitted a gpo with inbuilt usb charger ports and loving it (standard clipsal) where you can get the powerpoint back and still charge phone/tablet etc
I am now going to have to pull it back out and fit one of these I reckon
Its a new company, Ozzie designed and made, and they are releasing a rather flash new gpo/powerpoint
The gpo can be hooked up to your wireless internet (no limit to number that I can see) or zwave/zigby for existing home automation system
has 3 usb sockets and `tap' touchpads to act as switches, or these can be disabled and it controlled by an app on your phone (kid safe lol)
I hope they make a wall switch version as well, turn on the outside light as you drive up the driveway so you can see to open the front door lol
It has a led `nightlight' mode and a power consumption mode where it changes the brightness of the leds as the amount of current drawn increases
you can technically turn any item on or off anywhere you have internet available on your phone or via the wifi at home
and you can see the current state of the switches from your phone (did you leave the iron on this morning? check ya phone and see)
And a final idea it has which I havent seen before(wonder how long it is before the smoke alarm manufacturers see it and implement it?)
put it in training mode and press your smoke alarm test button, and whenever it hears the smoke alarm go off, it sends an alert to your phone via its app
Like I said, I have no affiliation with the company, but being a technogeek from way back, I just had to buy one and try it out (i suspect I might be getting few when I build my new place)
