I have been toying with getting rid of cable TV ,
and going to ' streaming ' internet TV .
The ' boxes ' available ( FireStick , FlexBox , Roku , et . al .)
( with attendant remote controls )
output HDMI video and audio , and will play through
a computer monitor fine .....
EXCEPT ....
The volume controls ( of those 3 anyways ( and I surmise the rest ) )
rather than control the signal out of the box ,
are ' paired ' to the ( usual ) TV volume control .
This makes for an inelegant hookup ( to me )
Does any one have an idea why they are designed that way ?????
