Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

That`ll be magic, no good where size and portability is a factor, but for solar farms, wind farms on the money. Even out the flow. Lets hope it becomes reality. We come from the land downunder.

Great article. This quote from the article reminds me of something I already do:
"The researchers say the technology stands to be a game-changer in renewable energy storage by solving the intermittent generation problems faced by renewable sources, such as wind and solar."
I've solved my energy-storage problems by compressing air with my windmills and using that compressed air, stored in receivers (tanks) similarly to what the article is alluding to. When I need power, I run the air through small air-driven engines, which I manufacture as a hobby.
Coupled to the engine might be a belt-driven tool or an alternator.
. . . . . MacNothing difficult is ever easy!
Perhaps better stated in the words of Morgan Freeman,
"Where there is no struggle, there is no progress!"

Another thought in Germany was to generate hydrogen with the excess energy and feed it into the gas grid.Taxation as a means of achieving prosperity is like a man standing inside a bucket trying to lift himself up.
