Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi All
I am currently in Salt Lake City and had a major melt down on my laptop.
As I had everything backed up, a new laptop was soon up and running.
My Outlook mail is in the clouds so that was ok, BUT my thunderbird mail was all lost.
Also my links to all the sites and Forum's
Most I remembered and could find again.
One, Terry's LiFePo forum I cant because it is a private forum.
I even tried finding my posts on the Caravanners forum, but for some strange reason
that forum cant be accessed from where I am. (Server can't be found)
It comes up in Google searches ok, but I can't access it.
So, the question:
Anybody here a member of Terry's Forum that can give me the link ?
You can do it with a PM. I know my tag and login but not the address of the Forum.
I dont have any urgent issues to raise there, just like to keep track as I will be here for another couple of months.
Regards

Hi Dinosaur,
No help with the link unfortunately, but you can save your favorites/links onto your back up drive.
It depends on what system you are using as to the process but basically you save the favorites folder. Windows XP was a lot easier to save favorites on than 7 or 8.
cheers

Hi All
Mark your reply got my grey cells working.
Re-Downloaded MozBackup and went looking on my Passport that I use for backup.
Lo & behold a MozBackup folder with email and Firefox backup.
So all good now.Regards Hervey Bay Qld.

It depends how your laptop died, but if the hard drive wasn't the problem then you can remove it and connect it to another computer via USB with an adaptor. I have done that with a couple of hard drives where the motherboard died and I could re-access my data again.
Just a thought
