I would still use some components for other projects, instead of smashing all to useless pieces.

But suppose this way they got more views, or it helped their frustration or both.

Correct! One hopes the factory has taken note of the many flaws and fixed them in the meantime. Youtube is full of Powerjack repair advice, with, e.g., advice how to check each MOSFET and which replacement to use.
