Has anyone seen or used one of these? LINK... They do them in sizes up to 4", and it is the 4" one I am interested in. I note it seems to use compatible controller chips - ILI9341 or ST7796, the latter of which, I don't think is supported, but the ILI9341 most certainly is. I am only interested in these for a larger display of simple text. I don't care if the capacitive-touch is supported or not. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

That thread you linked to about the 7796S is perfect - forget this display, I will read that other thread and get one of those in, cos I know it is now supported. Thanks very much. ![]() ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

You're welcome :) As I played around much with displays I can only say and emphasize that the viewing angle of the cheap TFTs is so poor, that I think its almost a waste of money. I don't have too much fun with them at least.. And I replied because I thought you've chosen this because of IPS (in your link) Edited 2025-05-29 16:31 by dddns |

In theory B&W composite video could be possible on a Pico but colour composite is very difficult to do on any general purpose micro controller and way beyond a Pico. A VGA or HDMI to composite converter between the Pico and the monitor is needed for that. |

Hi phil99 I got a hdmi to 3 phonos but no composite video on my car video...I don't have a car but the point was they are cheaper than a lcd and no compatibility problems with mmb I use a 8" with hdmi, vga and comp vid...if that works. it was £14 but you pay more for hdmi, vga. |
