Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Completed build of my EXPLORE 100 MicroMite with addition of SSD1963 7" LCD display and have it running in console mode with "keyboard US" configured in Options.
How ever I only have One PS2 capable keyboard and the MicroMite Explore 100 on MMBASIC 5.04.5 does not recognize the keyboard.
Same keyboard works fine if used on my DuinoMite Mega on MMBASIC 4.04 ( CANbus firmware) .
The keyboard is a DSE ( Dick Smith Electronics) USB/PS2 Keyboard XHS239 that comes with a USB-PS2 adapter to use as a PS2 keyboard.
Are there differences between MMBASIC 5.04.5 on Micromite compared to MMBASIC 4.04 on DuinoMite Mega that would account why PS2 keyboard is not working ?
Or any pointers as to what may be the cause of same keyboard not working on MicroMite Explore 100 board ??
Thanks in anticipation . :)

Check that you have 5v on pin 4 and Gnd. on pin 3 of the PS/2 socket. Looking at the front of the socket they are on the left and right mid level respectively. Then check continuity from pin 5 of the socket (right of the notch at the top) to pin 83 of the PIC32 and then pin 1 (right bottom) to pin 84.
The latest MicroMitePlus firmware is V5.05.05
Make sure you are using the Plus version for the PIC32MX470. . Edited 2026-02-22 08:52 by phil99
