Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi, was liking trixie os on 120G usb 3 ssd but thought try another os so tried ubuntu on another ssd and it "works" but time lags opening anything and blue-tooth mouse was tedious. youtube not as fast as trixie Not happy.
next was Fydeos. never used a chromebook so no idea what it was supposed to to do, android games, no idea. but it works... I think. makes rpi a chromebook with android??
on another ssd.
Then tried Twister Os 64bit. works and youtube ok. tried mmedit for rpi on all os's and not work , script on Twister.
I thought the "themes" in twister not a big deal any more, I used the 32 bit version for years, now it's just variation on a theme but it's an option.
I'd like to use fydeos and connect to tv for media. it's easy to swap usb ssd.
Trixie seems the fastest for use and always remembers blue-tooth devices.
I wouldn't swap os on a pc but no prob on a rpi. any more to try..mmm

Hello Stan, did you try Armbian? I think it runs on an RPI 4(00). Have fun :)

I don't know if it's still the case, but at one time only Raspberry Pi's own OS was allowed to use the hardware acceleration in the GPU chip. It was a contract thing so nothing could be done about it at the time. It gave their own OS a distinct advantage over everything else if you were using a Pi for video.
