Stoned In this game you gave to move gems (stones) around to create groups of 3 or more in one line (horizontal or vertical). ![]() You move in the grid with the D-pad, and select a stone to move with A. SELECT quits to menu, and finally closes the game. START starts the game. B provides a hint (just in case you don't see it anymore). ![]() Find the game in below ZIP. stoned.zip The controls are for Game*Mite/PicoGamer, but in essence are string based, so it is quite simple to patch the program for mouse or keyboard control. The game uses LOAD JPG, so it should run fine on 6.02.01 official release, but is tested on 6.03.00. In this thread you can find means to upgrade your Game*Mite. Help requested ! I do not own a 2350 HDMI setup yet. I could use some help from someone who does. Please install the "stoned.zip" from the first post. Use add this MMBasic program to the same folder. stoned_kb.zip Set the HDMI to OPTION RESOLUTION 640x480 in OPTIONS (I use MODE 4 = 15bit colors, resembling the ILI9341 display). RUN "stoned_kb.bas" Start the game with "s", stop with ESCAPE, help menu = ESCAPE Please report any problems, a screenshot will be appreciated (I can run the game on 2040 VGA, but it looks ugly). Thanks in advance for the support. Volhout Edited 2026-07-16 19:08 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Hi, I tested it on "PicoMiteHDMIUSBV6.03.00" works just perfect! Here is a video: Dropbox P.S.: I just commented out the whole play MOD thing, because I didn't want to allocate memory to play mod, so I didn't tested the playback. Cool game! Greetings Daniel |

Thanks Daniel, Peter, Now I know the engine works on HDMI. I can think about implementing mouse control, and adapt the screens to support the correct instructions. The video is helpfull. !! Volhout P.S. I fixed a nasty bug with initialization. You have not found it yet, but may run into it eventually. It happens when the initial screen has no matches. I included 2 files (stoned, and stoned_kb) although stoned_kb should also work on Game*Mite but I did not test it yet... stoned.zip Edited 2026-07-16 23:52 by Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

For fun, here is the program converted to micropython and tested under v0.8 using a HDMI touch screen on a Pico Computer 3. The D-pad/A/B controls became touch: Drag a stone toward a neighbour (≥13px of finger travel picks the dominant axis) — the classic match-3 gesture, or tap a stone (cyan box, the old "A select") then tap an adjacent one to swap. The green partner box and the two 100ms beats of the original swap animation are kept. Tap the HINT bubble — the suggested stone flashes white three times (instead of teleporting the cursor), and the dial fills as before. Tap the MENU bubble — pause menu over the board; the game clock stops while it's open (the original's timer kept running, but its blocking key-wait meant pausing was effectively free — this preserves that spirit). On the intro, menu and end screens: TAP continues / replays, HOLD (long press) quits — replacing START/SELECT. The intro JPG's baked-in "SELECT to QUIT / START to begin" caption is covered with a "TAP to begin" bar. stonedpy.zip |

Hi Peter, Thanks for the python version. That must have been an AI conversion, since it töok me hours and hours to write Stoned. , and do the artwork. Once I have python, I will analyze how it is implemented. Volhout P.s. as you can read in the source code, there are still 2 todo's. 4 in a row leaves a bomb charged stone behind, that when triggered (3 in a row) next time clears a 3x3 field. 5 in a row leaves a pulsung gem behind(new type) that you can move any normal gem upon, and when you do, the whole field is cleared of that particular gem type (erases 5-20 stones in 1 move). But these require new tiles, an mod samples that are not in this file set.
