Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I'm using PicoCalc with MMBasic version V6.03.00. First of all, congratulations on this great version and the successful integration of PicoCalc. However, I’m experiencing the following problem: When PicoCalc runs with an MMBasic program for more than about 2 hours (nothing happens after one hour), I can no longer access the keyboard. The Basic program continues to run flawlessly, but no longer accepts keyboard commands. I’ve tried this with several programs. What could be causing this?
No issues with the runtime or keyboard input. But I’ll be happy to test it for you this evening. Perhaps "OPTION RTC AUTO ENABLE" is the problem? Or have you fitted an additional RTC?
I’ve recently been having a problem where I have to remove the SD card to start it up?! Then I put it back in and everything’s fine. Does anyone have any advice?

This is probably the problem that someone else was seeing. From what I remember it was fixed by a capacitor across the power rails.
On the keyboard issue, my understanding is that the keyboard S/W (BIOS) has always been flakey. Are you running 1.6? If not then definitely update. If you are I suggest you post on the PicoCalc forum. Ernst updated the BIOS to 1.6 and he may see a message there. He is the BIOS guru Edited 2026-08-13 03:24 by matherp
