This will be included in the next full release but in the meantime if you have a Pico Computer 3 with PSRAM and WIFI installed. PicoMitePC3V7.00.00RC1.zip PicoMite_User_Manual.pdf Pico Computer 3: one small board, the whole computer Plug in a keyboard and an HDMI screen, and it's a computer. Type RUN and a program is running. That is what the PicoMitePC3 firmware makes of the Pico Computer 3: a self-contained BASIC machine, and now the first PicoMite that does everything at once. Everything on the screen. HDMI at 640x480 up to 1280x720 and 1024x768, five screen modes, 16-bit colour, framebuffers, sprites, tilemaps, 3D and a raycaster, PNG, JPG and BMP images, and an OV7670 camera if you fit one. USB keyboards, mice and game controllers plug straight in, through a hub if you like, with USB serial adapters alongside. Everything on the air. WiFi with TCP and UDP, HTTPS with TLS, MQTT, NTP time, TFTP file transfer and a built-in web server. Bluetooth keyboards, mice and game controllers, Bluetooth Classic and LE. Your music through Bluetooth speakers or headphones, or through the on-board I2S DAC. A Bluetooth GPS or serial module as COM7. All of it from the same program, at the same time. Everything in memory. 256K of program space, the largest of any PicoMite, and 5.5 MB of PSRAM for your variables and arrays. Edit a 250K program on the board itself, save it, chain into another, keep your variables across the change. Three flash slots and five RAM slots hold more programs ready to run. Everything fast. MMBasic V7 compiles your program as it runs: switch the compiler on, type RUN, and the same program runs up to three times faster with not a line changed. An SD card, a real-time clock, I2S audio playing WAV, FLAC, MP3 and MOD files, and the full set of GPIO, PWM, I2C, SPI and serial ports are all there, set up automatically the first time the firmware boots. And it stays simple. Programs arrive over the console with ZMODEM or over WiFi with TFTP, the editor and file manager are built in, and the whole manual is on the board as HELP. One radio serves both WiFi and Bluetooth: while music plays, WiFi takes a back seat, and comes straight back when the music stops. The Pico Computer 3 runs the PicoMitePC3 firmware, part of PicoMite V7, free and open source. Edited 2026-10-12 23:24 by matherp |

Thank you, Peter! This is truly an incredible project. I’ve been following it ever since I bought my TFT Maximite back in the day, but it was the move to the Picos that really got me hooked. What you’ve achieved here over the last few years is simply amazing. The PC3 with this firmware is an absolute gem – thanks for all your hard work! Matthias |

WOW Peter with all my testing you did say "wifi and bluetooth" will NEVER be be a part of MMBasic and a week later here it is plain and simple 2 days ago I did say to claude lets try 16 bit in 640x480 and spent a full day without even seeing a picture then when I demanded the idiot went back to 320 and it was pixelated to the max so that was the last straw and haven't talked with 'IT' since. On the bright side the logi-tech K250 and M196 pair straight away when a key is pressed and my Flip 6 BT speaker also pairs at boot. Well after my morning caffine intake this uf.2 is going on 2 pico 3 computers and the BT serial can get a good road test. Regards Bryan |

He's known for that. This has happened on more then just one or two occasions. My personal belief, is that he really DOES mean that when he writes it, but a brain like Peter's, never really stops thinking, and I suspect that AFTER he has made those statements, his never-sleeping brain starts thinking: "I wonder if I tried this and that, maybe I could get thing X that I said would never work....to work." It's a challenge, and I expect he gets a certain amount of satisfaction from getting something to work, that he has said would never be supported. Just a guess. ![]() Smoke makes things work. OK got the first Pico 3 Computer loaded with this new firmware now on first boot the K250 came up for pairing and that dredded bug of pressing a key on the K250 results in a new pair line and just keep repeating the new pair line. Now doing a Cntrl-C and bluetooth status shows the K250 has 1 bond so decided to take out the battery did a clear 2350B.f.2 then reflashed the firmware only to find the keyboard still held that bond and says its connected on boot. Total of 5 Mbytes PSRAM available PICO78DCFDA002A connecting to WiFi... Connected 192.168.1.46 > US USB Keyboard Connected on channel 1 > USB Mouse Connected on channel 2 > USB Flash Drive Connected (addr 2) > Bluetooth Keyboard Connected > bluetooth forget > Bluetooth Keyboard Disconnected > Bluetooth Keyboard Connected > bluetooth status Bluetooth: on Keyboard: connected Classic keyboard: none Serial: none Speaker: not connected Longest encoder gap: 0 ms Longest send wait: 0 ms, samples dropped: 0, send errors: 0 Stream starts: 0, pauses: 0 (0 by the speaker), closed by the speaker: 0 Start failures: 0 refused, 0 rejected, 0 unanswered; streams reopened: 0 Bitpool lowered: 0 times, lowest 0 Bond store: 2 writes, longest 167 ms, total 332 ms Keyboard security: 1 pairings, 1 re-encryptions, 0 interrupted since boot Keyboard bonds held: 1 Last pairing: D1:38:CB:14:D1:05 (random), bond stored Now with my Flip 6 BT Speaker it connects first time now with many tries at getting a song playing the Flip stays quiet where fm is saying the song is playing now backing out of fm does show the Flip is still at idle > bluetooth scan Scanning... 90:F2:60:76:BE:F0 -54 dBm Audio "Ruddy's JBL Flip 6" 1 device found > bluetooth connect "Ruddy's JBL Flip 6" Connected to 90:F2:60:76:BE:F0: SBC 44100 Hz, joint stereo, bitpool 40 > bluetooth status Bluetooth: on Keyboard: connected Classic keyboard: none Serial: none Speaker: 90:F2:60:76:BE:F0, idle Stream: SBC 44100 Hz, joint stereo, bitpool 40, 16 blocks, 8 subbands, MTU 672 Longest encoder gap: 0 ms Longest send wait: 0 ms, samples dropped: 0, send errors: 0 Stream starts: 0, pauses: 0 (0 by the speaker), closed by the speaker: 0 Start failures: 0 refused, 0 rejected, 0 unanswered; streams reopened: 0 Bitpool lowered: 0 times, lowest 40 Bond store: 2 writes, longest 166 ms, total 332 ms Keyboard security: 1 pairings, 1 re-encryptions, 0 interrupted since boot Keyboard bonds held: 1 Last pairing: D1:38:CB:14:D1:05 (random), bond stored So after lunch I will try a new pico 3 computer board that has never had the K250 on and try again Regards Bryan |

Ok here is the result after I finally got the K250 unmounted bluetooth status Bluetooth: on Keyboard: not connected Classic keyboard: none Serial: none Speaker: not connected Longest encoder gap: 0 ms Longest send wait: 0 ms, samples dropped: 0, send errors: 0 Stream starts: 0, pauses: 0 (0 by the speaker), closed by the speaker: 1 Start failures: 0 refused, 0 rejected, 0 unanswered; streams reopened: 0 Bitpool lowered: 0 times, lowest 40 Bond store: 1 writes, longest 166 ms, total 166 ms Keyboard security: 1 pairings, 1 re-encryptions, 0 interrupted since boot Keyboard bonds held: 0 Last pairing: D1:38:CB:14:D1:05 (random), bond stored > Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 512727 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 938645 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 029649 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 052619 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 164800 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 460477 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 211438 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 461480 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 151684 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 809629 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 010001 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Bluetooth keyboard pairing: type 113132 on the keyboard being paired, then Enter Now as each numeral keypress was done a new pair line came up also every time I tried to get the K250 back in pairing mode. Now in my testing this bug came up as the K250 has a 5 bit address not 6 bit, when the 5 bit was put in the firmware the K250 paired on boot. Also the M196 mouse isn't seen when in pair mode so more debugging on the mouse, now I am leaving claude out of this as I am getting get sick of the rabbit holes. |

Well one step closer flashed a second pico 3 Computer and the K250 paired first time so the clear_flash_2350'uf.2 I have isn't wiping everything anyway the M196 still won't be seen in pairing mode and the Flip 6 still won't play a song in fm. Now I think I found the reason why the Flip 6 won't play a song as when I try OPTION AUDIO BLUETOOTH Error : Audio already configured Turned the Flip 6 off rebooted and it won't let me configure the OPTION AUDIO Edited 2026-10-13 14:09 by Bryan1 |

If using the keypad, is NumLock on? Or try the numbers above QWERTY. I don't have any BT things so can't test. |

Begining to understand why Peter said he would never support BT, cos it is such an of a protocol......Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

Have you disabled the default I2S audio? |

BT classic SPP is wonderful. I started using it to link my Android HMI to machine controls, back in 2012 and I was a bit wary at first. Turned out to be a masterstroke . Absolutely rock-solid and clients love the portability. It's an industrial protocol. But the weirdness continues and I have become a broken record; moments before I read the latest news from Pete, I was wondering how to incorporate a HC-05 on the Pico Computer 3. I have only one UART available that I need for my RS485 link...then I read that it now supports BT classic SPP. This keeps happening; when I have a stumbling block, Pete removes it without being asked I have a Pico Computer 3, back at the shop but pretty much, as soon as it arrived, I got pulled away on a big project so I haven't had the opportunity to test anything. Hopefully be back in the next few days. BUT, I have a RP2350DIL with me and WOW! It's silly but my performance benchmarks are the "big guys" such as Siemens, Beckhoff, Heidenhain and so on. I was competitive and feeling really good. Then the announcement of C-subs being easier to create and I got excited but before I had a chance to try, we get real-time compiling....performance went through the roof To think that we wasted a knighthood on Lewis Hamilton...should be Sir Peter Mather |
