Hi Mick,
You built a layout for WeAct a while back. What do you think of this breadboard adapter design? It's just an idea inspired by my old Raspi 4 breadboard adapter. I was thinking of extending the part of the adapter that plugs into the breadboard.

regards

It gets the pins out but I doubt very much if you could get HDMI to work. There is a lot of cross coupling between those tiny traces and the HSTX is producing high frequency sharp edge signals. After that you have the poor breadboard connections and further capacitance from that. They should be nicely rounded off by the time they get to an HDMI socket. :) So yeah, as a MCU test rig it could be useful as you can access the pins easily. It has the advantage that it will work with both the WeAct Core2350B and the Pimoroni PGA2350. They are not pin compatible.

Hi Gerad,

I don’t see the point of fiddling with an adapter when you could just keep it simple  like this:

You could even mount the Pico, with its female headers, on top of a separate board and connect the HDMI jack in parallel beside it. Then you could attach the whole assembly to a breadboard using Nano Tape.

I have a different problem. For the PGA format modules I use turned pin connectors. I have to make sure that a) I don't fit them into conventional header sockets b) they are the correct diameter sockets (they aren't all identical). There are no long pin versions of the sockets anyway. :)

Please explain more, I can´t get a clear picture of it.

A PGA is this, isn´t it?

It looks like the same issue I had with the WeAct board.

This is the original.
Your first link seems to be a 1:1 clone, the second is a Waveshare (clone) with different pinout
