I am quoting a project where I need to retrofit one of these The existing controller is able to animate the machine on its screen. At around 1:16, it shows that the animation updates slow-down when the machine is running. Any idea if the CMM2 can come close to this? TBH, the feature is hardly ever used, its more marketing glitz than anything else. I already stated that I wouldn't have it and they don't care but in the light of recent developments on the CMM2, it would be a "nice-to-have". Pete has demonstrated some pretty cool graphics capabilities in the past and now we have a performance boost. |

Phenix, This kind of animation can be achieved in 2 ways - a 3d modeling tool (which does not exist on CMM2, although functional primitives exist to rotate and move wireframes, and filled wireframes). - playing a video that is a recording of a PC based 3D modeling tool. Although we do not have video player on CMM2 similar has been shown to work on pico (badapple video, camera video on pico screen). So, it is not impossible, but the groundwork to do it is not layed. Volhout Question is : do you need linear animation. When you can live with end point (picotures) vision then it is obviously YES, it can be done. Hi Harm, I think that, if I even bother, I'll do it on the Android device. In light of these recent developments, I am planning to have a large touchscreen (CMM2) on the machine but I'll retain the Android tablet anyway. The portability has been well received and it's great for remote diagnostics without starting a war with the IT guys |
