Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi,

I am nearing completion of my homemade CNC machine which is run from mach3 software, this software has a serial Mod I/O interface for adding additional inputs and outputs etc to add more interfaces to the machine from the PC than ,in my case, you get over 2 parallel ports,

What I was wondering is, does anyone know if it is possible to use a Maximite to do this Mod I/O interfacing and if so would I need to use an Olimex Mod I/O card to do so, or do i perhaps only need the Olimex card ?

I really am only just investigating this type of interface and am not at all fully understanding it at the moment, If anyone has used this type of stuff I would be very grateful for any information.

thanks,

Andrew
