Hi Peter and guys,

I am currently trying to order the "standard" board from you.
https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=17301&P=4#228678
The How-to-order-PCB.txt says the following:

Please refer to
https://prodocs.easyeda.com/en/pcb/order-order-pcb/index.html

On the website of easyeda.com I first try to import the ZIP as a project, but that doesn't work, neither in the easy nor in the pro version? The ZIP contains "only" Gerber files.
On which page do I have to upload them to order assembled boards?

I would appreciate a brief explanation and help so that I don't make any mistakes when ordering, thank you.

I got it out and ordered it. Now it's time to wait ...

@PilotPirx: Have a look at your PM about the CMM2 housing and possibly this one ...

@Michael: When the order arrives, I'll get back to you.

Hello Peter,
do you have a suitable dxf file? https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=17301&P=3#227926
Then I can use it to feed my little CNC (cheese milling machine ;-).

I'm confident.

I'm still waiting for the intended use for my cheese milling machine (Genmitsu 3018-PROVer V2). It's been sitting unused for 3 years. I think it makes too much dirt in living spaces.

Michael

Regarding the front panel: isn't it easier to 3D print it? I imagine it would smell pretty bad to laser it.

Front and rear panels can be made as PCBs. It works really well, and you can have any colour that's available as solder mask. :)  I use 1.6mm board but take the copper off for a couple of mm right round the edges. That reduces the thickness slightly and helps prevent the solder mask from chipping when the board is cut up.

All the design files are now available on github

This includes a dxf file for matching end-plates for the MULTICOMP MCRM2015S or HAMMOND RM2015S box.

Hi Michael,
can you load the dxf file? And if so, with which program? Unfortunately I get an error message that something in the file is wrong ...
Matthias

Fixed, the download was wrong. I have to download it as “raw”, save target as only puts garbage in the file :-(

Front housing and cnc with plastic are not compatible, I prefer to stick to milling wood with my modest skills.
Now I have to find someone with a laser ...

The order and completion of the project are completed so far.

Matthias

@Michael (twofingers): Noch Interesse an einem kompletten Bausatz (Board, rp2350, Gehäuse)? Dann schreibe eine PN. Löten und die Fronten musst du selber machen oder ich finde die Tage noch jemanden mit Laser.
Still interested in a complete kit (board, rp2350, housing)? Then write me a PN. You'll have to do the soldering and the fronts yourself or I'll find someone with a laser in the next few days.

It can work OK. You need a 2mm single flute bit and turn it quite slowly

if you actually have one left, please let me know

If you print the front panel, laminate it and cut it out neatly it can often cover slightly oversize holes in the plastic. I've done this before and it worked ok. For this sort of case you really need to stick the print down then trim it so about 0.5mm of plastic shows top anb bottom and about 1mm at each end. Any reasonable double sided tape is fine.

Yes, there are various good options for creating the front panels.
I was thinking of 3d printing instead of milling and drilling. You can also get a label by changing the filament for the last 2 layers.

Happy christmas holidays
