Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have a desktop and a laptop running Linux Mint. I want to add a fingerprint reader to save using my password. There are plenty of USB Fingerprint readers out there but will they work. Linux Mint supports finger print readers but will a USB one work.

The new Linux Mint version comes with a new app for managing fingerprints. I don't know if it works with and USB fingerprint reader.

I'm using Fedora and my laptop fingerprint reader works fine, with no need of extra configurations. It was completely out of the box. I only needed to register my finger print.
