Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi tenij000,

I cannot tell you the exact specifications, but all the MOD files I tried from internet (the mod archive) seem to work on PicoMite.
There is only 1 requirement I know of. The MOD buffer should be sized to hold the MOD file.

OPTION MODBUFF ENABLE xxx

Where xxx is the size in kilobytes. This will be subtracted from the size of the A:/ drive. Default the MODBUFF size is 128kbyte, but some platforms use

OPTION MODBUFF ENABLE 192

So you can play up to 192kbyte sized MOD files. Such as the 180kbyte sized MOD files in PETSCII ROBOTS.

An Amiga MOD file is a tracker-based music module, featuring
up to 31 raw 8-bit signed PCM samples, 4–32 channels (originally 4, matching the Paula chip), and pattern-based sequencing. It defines instrument samples, pitches, and effects within 64-row patterns, historically using "M.K." or "FLT4/8" signatures for 15 or 31 instrument trackers like ProTracker.

Hi Martin,

The sample can be used as a note (i.e. piano). What note is assumed that sample represents ? a C3 ?

yes, When I play the instruments for the sample myself, I always try to sample a C2 or C3 note. However, as far as I can see, you also have the option in the sample editor to assign the sample to a note.
Cheers
