Is anyone interested in a group order for the new Pico Computer 3 in Germany?

I’ve just had a quick look at the prices and, with a full configuration including an HDMI-to-VGA adapter, it comes to around 230–245 EUR including postage for five boards.

The adapter is quite expensive at around 10 EUR each! Perhaps we could leave that out?! But actually, a complete set would be better.

I’m not sure, though, whether tax is payable on top of that, or whether it’s already included.

Unfortunately, the PSRAM (U33) isn’t fully in stock and there are still 4 pieces missing, which explains the price difference. Also, the WIRELM-SMD_RMC20452T isn’t available from JLCPCB and has to be purchased separately (approx. 4 EUR). I can also organise this as a bulk order, which saves on postage (+5 EUR).

So at the moment, I’m expecting it to cost at least around 50 EUR per board plus postage within Germany.
Who’s interested? I’d like to get two myself, so we’d need three more people to take them.

@Peter: I’ve received the following information – is this correct?

If you’re interested, just get in touch here.

Yes, just tick the box. I use a crystal oscillator rather than a simple crystal - no issue with bias capacitors and a linear regulator for DVDD rather than using the internal one which needs a special inductor. All my designs use this approach and are completely stable and easy to overclock as a result.

Hi Matthias,

I often place group orders like this, but I’d be happy to join in on this one, too.

It gets really cheap if you can get 15 units together.

I’d like to order 5 units, including adapters.

I recommend using FedEx Express. However, there’s an additional 19% VAT and a 15 EUR processing fee.

Oh, and please use lead-free HASL PCBs.

Manfred

PS: If I do a quick calculation, the total cost at JLCPCB is 480 EUR. Including VAT and fees, that would come to 586 EUR, or about 40 EUR per set. But PSRAM and RMC2 are missing. Oh, and the panels are still missing, too.

Hallo Matthias!

Nachmals vielen Dank!!!

Hello Matthias!

After seeing the orders from other colleagues, I would like to supplement or clarify my order from this morning regarding the equipment:

I also want fully equipped boards with adapters and whatever else is or will be available. The whole thing in duplicate.

Thank you again!!!
Best wishes! Joachim

Falls möglich würde ich mich auch gerne für ein komplettes Board inkl. Adapter anmelden.

If possible, I'd also like to sign up for a complete board, including the adapter.

On the adapter, buy the vga connector and hdmi connector yourselves and just get JLC to do the resistors. They are both trivial to solder and it will save you a lot for the sake of a couple of minutes. In particular, the hdmi connector solders to both sides of the board so really pushes the price up. However, because it does it makes it easy to hand solder because the pins are at double the normal HDMI spacing.

Wow, what a response. I hadn’t realised there were so many Germans here.
I’ll sort this out at the weekend, draw up a clear list and post it here. I’d prefer to place the order only once the PSRAM is available and ready to be fitted.
With so many boards (at a quick count, I’ve got 20–21 boards), however, I’d also prefer payment in advance. I hope that’s understandable.
Another issue is that the summer holidays are drawing ever closer. Let’s hope everything’s available again by the start of next week...

Are there actually front panels for the new board and the matching case? I’d like to order those as a circuit board and with printing. Someone had this brilliant idea last time.

@Peter: Thank you very much for your tip.

The case is the same as always. MULTICOMP MCRM2015S mostly available from Element14/Farnell or the HAMMOND RM2015S available from DigiKey, Mouser, etc.
I've got some nice PCB end-plates but, with apologies, I can't remember who sent me them - Geoff, Grogster (maybe on Silicon Chip)? but there are designs out there. What I have got is the original dxf files for the end-plates which can be used to laser-cut, 3d print, or create PCB designs.

@homa,

is it also possible, as Ösi, to get one set? Imho shipping to Austria should be easy, as this is all within EU. I would, of course, take over the extra shipping cost.

Thanks,
Gerald
