I bought a Waveshare RP2350 PiZero motherboard, but I haven't been able to get the HDMI port and the optional serial port working. Has anyone managed to get it working with MMBASIC? Is there any firmware available for it? thanks. |

Sorry, but this is a board designed by (in Donald's language) "a very stupid person". The rp2350B has a dedicated peripheral HSTX designed to output DVI/HDMI compatible data. This peripheral is hardwired to GP12-GP19 and is used by MMBasic and my Microrpython and Fuzix ports. Waveshare have connected the DVI port to GP32 to GP39. Back in the past before the rp2350, someone worked out how to drive DVI on the RP2040 using some very clever but hugely resource intensive code. I assume it is possible to do something similar on the rp2350 but WHY when you have dedicated H/W to do it efficiently, it's crazy. |

The good news is it was (I hope) cheap and there are other boards which are sensibly designed and still quite cheap. John |
