There's a design contest starting on 28th November utilising the DesignSpark chipKIT.

I wish they had a little more detail on the "energy efficient design" aspect of the contest. I mean, if I don't power it and put it in a freezer so that it uses zero power, I win right? They should require it to do something specific and then evaluate the energy efficiency.

Thanks for sharing though. I'll keep an eye on it.

energy efficient with linear voltage regulator which sink 5mA quiescent current?
i.e. 250 times more current is wasted due to the poor power supply design than the PIC32 itself in low power mode
