I just built the Ascii VT100. So far I've hooked up a MuP to it with no problems. When I hook up my Windows 7 laptop with Putty I get a "cannot configure Com port" error. RealTerm cannot connect either. When I use TeraTerm I get no errors but I get no response in TeraTerm and the monitor on the VT100 has a blinking cursor. When I press a key on either the laptop keyboard or the keyboard on the VT100 I get a blinking led on the board. I have both set for 38400 8N1. Could the Windows driver be corrupt? |

I bet that yo do not have anything echoing the characters being typed. Jumper the serial Tx and Rx pins on the VT100 board - that will echo them so that they will show up on the display. Geoff Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |
