Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi Everyone

My name is Ray. I am brand new to this forum. It looks like a great forum and I am looking forward to doing some heavy reading.

A friend and I want to install solar/wind systems at each of our respective cottages. From my limited research it looks as though the Fisher/Paykel Smartmotor is the way to go for our windturbine projects. I am looking to purchase 2 Smartmotor assemblies. If any of you have one or more that they want to part with please let me know. We are also looking for some solar panels. If anyone has any good sourcing contacts for used panels or new @ good prices please let me know.

Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray

Welcome, although many of us can find F&Ps free from junk I expect you could buy a new spare in Canada for what it would cost in freight from us.

Hi Ray

Its good to see your going to go for it. I purchaced an F&P from Geoff who is also from this site. The unit cost was $30.00 Aus and the shipping $80.00 Aus witch at the time worked out to around $113 Cdn and was by far the cheapest way to go. However It took around 3 months to get here by sea freight. The shipping may be more cost effective per unit to have more than one shipped.

Good luck with your project.
John

Hi Guys

Thanks for your welcome. Its good to hear that there may be some very cost friendly options. Time is not so much an issue as I won't be starting til fall. I'm also checking out some other sources, including buying a new motor set directly from F & P. I'll let you know how I make out
