So I have been reading all these posts about the F&P wind turbines. Now I have alot of questions. Let me start with my living conditions. I live in a relatively dense populated area. The wind here in sunny florida is limited. I have 2 of the older style F&P motors laying around but do not have the new hubs. Funds are very limited so this project has been a long time running now. But, as the economy is getting worse, I figure I better do more to get some RE systems going on my property to help reduce the burden of inflating prices. I am in process of designing a VAWT since that seems like it will take less space, and work better in the turbulent winds. so now to the questions.

1) I would like to drive both motors off one turbine, but am not sure how big a vawt I would need to do that.

2) Do I NEED a newer hub for each to make this work?

3) What stator config should I use on these two motors?

4) when connecting the turbine to a power system, do I jusyt parralel the output to a charge controler?

5) I read somewhere about a low voltage charge controler that would bring voltage up to charging levels. Anyone have experience with these? what are the pros and cons?

6) I always see everyone making new shafts for these projects, is the stock shaft weak, or are the bearing non-sufficient?

these are just some of the Q's that pop into mind right away. Unfortunatly I am more of a hands on learner then a reader and I really stink at search engines so although I consider myself pretty smart I am lacking in some skills needed to make this simple.
Don't you think Free/Renewable energy should be mandatory in new buildings?
