G'day. Popped into engineering shop to buy a 6005 bearing mentioned in these plans http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/fp2a.asp They had them, but there were all different sizes of 6005 bearings. Can someone please tell me the ID, OD and thickness of the bearing used in these plans? Cheers. |

http://www.skf.com/skf/productcatalogue/jsp/viewers/productT ableViewer.jsp?&lang=en&newlink=1&tableName=1_1_1&presentati onType=3&startnum=13 6005: ID=25mm OD=47mm width=12mm I'd be very surprized if they had differently sized 6005 bearings; the '60' and '05' part of the code identify the bearing type and its size uniquely. There may be differences however in how the bearing is sealed: the part-number behind 6005 identifies this, e.g. -2RS1, -2Z, or nothing if there is no seal or cover. BTW, I think Gizmo's plans call for a 56205 bearing: http://www.pheltom.pl/katalogi/zespoly%20lozyskowe%20FAG.pdf (see page 25 (FAG-24), bottom). 56205: ID=25mm OD=52mm (width=17mm / 34.1 mm; see drawing) 56205 is not the same bearing as the 6005. The 6205 ( http://www.skf.com/skf/productcatalogue/jsp/viewers/productT ableViewer.jsp?&lang=en&newlink=1&tableName=1_1_1&presentati onType=3&startnum=14 seems to be closer in dimensions to the 56205 than the 6005 is. The particular bearing in the original F&P housing, is marked SKF 6005 2RS3/C3 with dimensions ID 25mm OD 47mm W 12mm I hope this clears the confusion. Gordon. PS edit: The bearing mentioned in the article by Gizmo, is different. This has mounting included I think. become more energy aware |
