Has anyone tried to use small magnets placed on the rotor hub between the cogging areas to reduce yhe cog? And also does anyone know it this would have an adverse affect on performance? If your not living on the edge your taking up to much space! |

I think for the work involved the gain would be minimal. Plus you may upset the flux paths through the coil/poles and get less output. These days rounding, or better still twisting, the poles is easier and works with minimal effect on output power. I built a tool for twisting the poles and it really is a simple process. Thanks Glenn I was thinking it would work but really was unsure of the effect it would have on it. Dave If your not living on the edge your taking up to much space! |

Go to my photo log here and you can see what I did with the magnets and how they performed. If you are interested in buying them I can have them made in China and mailed directly to you. They are about $2/magnet. Shipping is something like $75, but I am not sure. If you are serious in getting them I can get a quote. |

Are the magnets designed for the F&P or can they be modified for other applications as I havent got my hands on a used F&P yet? If your not living on the edge your taking up to much space! |

I have an extra that I may use in the future. conact Randy at rburmeister@watchtv.net He bought a number of them. He can sell you the shaft, rotor and stator as one unit. Let him know that Jonathan referred you to him. He is very helpful. Jonathan |
