does anybody know how i would check how much it is putting out i have a meter that will read dcv 500 20 2 200m or acv 500 200 or bat 12v 9v 6v 1.5v or dca 2m 20m 200m or 10a or ohm 20m 200k 2k 200 that is what reads on the dial adjustment not sure what setting to use this altinater probably isnt spinng fast enough to check any ways just wondering i am going to get a pm 10si some day thanks i am just seeing how much wind i have but thought might as well see if it is putting out any power

if its a regular modern car alt unfurtunately you wont get anything out of it unless you hook up a little dc power to the electro magnet inside ...if it feels very free to spin up by hand its almost definately this type

if you could power it up and give it a fast spin the meter could be set to the 20v dc range as a kind of starting point (kind of the same way youd read a battery....)

if theres a reading there , the 10A DC range could then be used to check the power (grunt) that comes out
of it ....kind of
