Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi guitarbaby,
These alternator conversions would be a good option for micro hydro systems. The current seems to limit at 25A, so inductance limiting appears to be playing a part.
The alternator unfortunately is only a part of a successful windmill. These small high revving car type alternator conversions used in windmills, are suited to the tops of mountains or exposed beachfronts with high winds. I don't think they are really suited to areas people normally live. If you give some indication of your local wind conditions forum members may be able to offer more help.
