I know you can make your own anemometer cups but I am after a store bought unit just like the one from otherpower.com

Problem is the otherpower ones are $20 plus $30 shipping in USD so it would be close to $80 AUD

Is there a local Australian option for the cups?

I made my little one from ping pong balls. Buggers to cut in half!

Next time you go grocery shopping look at the cooking untensiles. 3 soup ladles would work, or if you want to go big, try 3 woks

I made mine from the top rounded end of plastic towball covers. Not too hard to cut off accurately in the lathe after inserting a wood plug to stop the chuck squashing the plastic.
These things seem to last and last, anemometer has been going for over 20 years now, black plastic cups, unpainted.

AU$ 27.50 cheap enough ?

This one turned up after some quick googling for the search terms 'anemometer davis replacement parts wind cups australia':

http://www.davisinstruments.com.au/products/other_items/7903 L_windcups_large.html

http://www.davisinstruments.com.au/price_list.html

I suggest you google yourself a bit more, as the above hit was the first one I checked; there are likely better deals out there.

Not sure if you have this product in AUS - vanish stain remover for clothes washing. Sold in a bright neo pink canister contains measure which is a half sphere.
