Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Just wondering what's the best megapixel for posting photos. My camera can shoot pics at 7 mega pixels but I know that some times 7 mega pixels is to high. I have started my mill project and hope to post pictures in hopes of getting some comments from you guys. I would hate to take a bunch of pics only to find out that they won't work on this forum.

The forum will resize any picture down to 500 pixels wide automatically, but it wont let you upload a picture with a file size over 500k, so it will still reject large pictures from a 7 megapixel camera.

If you can drop the camera's default image size down to 1024 ( give or take ) pixels wide, then they will upload easily.

If not, you will need to resize the picture manually before uploading. There are instructions in the help section about resizing and uploading images using Windows Paint.

There are also some free image editing programs worth looking at. XNView is my fav, it makes thumbnails, and paint.net http://www.getpaint.net/is another good one.
