From what I have read on this site/forum, the FP motors have cogging issues on start up without modification or being the later model.
Just wondering if anyone has dabbled with magnetic levitation? could this overcome the cogging issue?

I found a youtube video of a homemade VAWT. It's not a great example as it looks like the blokes lives on top of a hilly area so wind is probably no an issue.
