i got my second windmill up and in the wind. its a hawt. for some reason it sometimes spins around like a vawt :s the wind changes a fair bit here, but the tail is also a bit curvy. could the tail fin be acting like a savonius? it seems to change wind direction more than the minimill and not always in the same direction. but it is 2 metres higher than the minimill. thoughts? |

May need a bigger tail? A curved tail or tail with a bend in it would be ok so long as its big enough. Is it easy to make a bigger tail, or more the tail further away from the windmill? If you can, post a photo or drawing of the tail with some basic measurements. A tail thats too big is ok, but one thats too small will be trouble.
