Hi has anybody tried making a reduced core F&P ? Looks like they would be ok for trickle charging @0.7watts pr RPM.Some info is available on the ecoinn website. Looks like you cut the 42 pole stator down to 3x12pole stators.I might have a go . Stay tuned AJ

I never heard of that before. do you mean every 12 teeth, remove two teeth ect? I once thought of removing every second tooth, before the decogging solutions started appearing, but it was only a thought. I bet someone has tried it though.

I haven't . . . yet. There is article of interest called "Optimizing a Permanent Magnet Alternator for micro-hydro application" by Dr. Chalko. Use google.
As well as an interest in wind energy, I also want to put in a picohydro setup. I only have enough head and flow for about 100-300W, hence my interest in a reduced-core F&P.
Good luck!

i use a 6 pole series star and 3 pole star on my exersize bike only because of 14.75 gearing i have on it,any more poles connected makes it to hard to push, ive found that 1mm stators work best in 12 and 24 volt modes with a output of 100 to 550 watts depending how hard i pedal.also tried .8 and .6mm stator but the 1mm seems able to get into the powerband easiest, hopes this helps someonematt down south
