G'day Hugh, I'll bet that's 80 degrees Celsius. I reckon you don't get many days at that temp in your part of the world, maybe even 80 degrees Fahrenheit! Megawatt Man |

hey there Megawatt Its dam cold right now, a balmy -17C. I think the supplier was referring to the temp where the mag starts to loose its charm (mag wise), is this a gradual decline or more like a switch. is this Hugh acceptable thnxs allways |

Hi Hugh I think that temp is the safe max working temperature. Any higher and the magnet will start to loose its strength. There is a temperature above this where the Neo magnet will basicaly drop its guts and loose all it magnetism. So keep it under 80c and you should be fine. In a windmill it should never go anywhere near that temperature. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hello Hugh Are you referring to the currie temp?I did a test comparing neos to ceramics by attaching them to a woodstove. It wasnt long and the neo just fell off and the ceramic was unaffected even near the coals.Has Gizmo stated that unless they rub on something you should be fine for turbines. When they lose it hardly any noticable magnetism is left. ![]() |

G'day all, Yes, the info now posted is right. The name Curie is after Pierre Curie who did a lot of early work on magnetism. His wife Marie was the lady who together wih Pierre isolated radium and other radioactive elements. Pierre died in a road accident and thereby escaped death through radioactivity, the fate of his good lady. Megawatt Man |
