Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hey Glenn. Good Morning ,hope you are keeping dry.

I was wondering if it would be an idea to have a list of who lives where in Oz ,sort of thing ?? Prob just a town, city, area type private thing -, unless ,like me they wouldn't mind a full address.

I'd like to put on a BBQ one saturday or Sunday for anybody that would like to chat , buy, sell, swap or just look at idea,s and stuff working. And, when on holidays or just driving through , might be able to say"hello".

Bruce

Any one interested ?

Have a look at this thing. Its a flappr map...

http://www.frappr.com/?a=constellation_map&mapid=13743932196 7

My name should be there, and anyone can join, I think, never really used it before, but I remember Fieldlines.com gave it a go once. I dont know how well it will work, but might be worth a try. You can at least find out where everyone is, and then email them to make contact for a visit.

If we get enough interrest I'll add it as a permanent link on the web site and encourage new forum members to add their location.

About half of the forum members are over sea's, so if your real keen you could travel the planet checking out windmills from all over.

Yeah I agree, it is difficult to use and not very user friendly. Took me a long time just to work out how to call the map group "The Back Shed".

I'll keep looking around to see what I can come up with. The Web Wize forum code itself could be modified to include city and state information, buts its a real programmers nightmare in there, see what I can do.

Hi All, I,m a bit cautious about going to these "other" sites and giving address info Etc. I reckon you could end up with heaps of spam and who knows, you then get postal junk mail . Just me ?.

But thanks for trying Glenn

Hello, the thought of a bbq has made me stop lurking and say g'day.I am in the adelaide hills (near wistow) living off about 50 watts of solar panels and slowly collecting bits to build a wind gen.
Has anyone been crazy enough to stick a Dunlite 4 blade prop on a F&P ? warnings would be apreciated

geting hard to find dunlite gear in useable condition.Would be interesting match for F&P would run quite well with out the flyball governors.I have repaired a few of them but have no blades left as they suffer from corrosion and the last ones made were in the early sixties

With regards to location info for members, there are a couple of fields in the database that never get used, ie MSN or Yahoo chat number, and these could be used for City and State information. That way you could find out what city, state and country a member lives in, and then you could send them a email from the forum to see if they want to make contact and get together to say hello.

I'll make the changes to the forum code this weekend and then let everyone know. Existing members can edit their own details and add their city and state info, if they choose to.
