Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

hi to all members , i have been interested in wind and solar energy for a while but after stumbling onto "windstuffnow" and this site the bug is biteing. Any way I have started to make my first wind generator , in a little over a month i've collected 4 f&p from the local dump and started wiring up a 7p3p and designing bearing&shaft to mount 2 or 1 . Luckily we have a well equiped machine shop at work. I work in the mines in central QLD but live in brisbane not far from tamborine on a hill with a good suppily of wind , I know that brucedownunder is arround that area as well and would like to have a yarn . As this is the first forum site i have regersted to I'm not sure of the rules about PH No's etc. My eventual plan at present is to combine wind&solar into a grid connect inverter but have not yet seen an inverter that can have both input voltages and phase it back into the grid but i dare say there is one available . Any feed back on this would be appreciated?. Anyway I thought I would intro myself and spin a bit about what i would eventually like to do , but like most time and money are the constraints...And congratulations to glen for a brilliant web site and 100,000 hits Edited by fillm 2007-02-12

Hello Fillm.

Good to hear from you and best wishes into the world of windmill power. I'm just off Henri Robert Drive ,that very steep road that connects Mt.tamborine with the nerang-Canungra road. Phone No. is 55453513.
I'm home most of the time and maybe can show you around my "Mess".

Hi Matt, checked out RPC and a heap of other sites as it's a pretty quiet night. I found Latronics PVE1200 can do what i want to do but it needs a battery bank , the other opt is SMA's windy boy but I dont think this is suitable for DIY wind gen's , when you start to read the spec's it seems to be for BIG $ Wind gen's . Controling the output for grid connect and wind gen's seems to be a major , which always seems to lead back to a battery bank for a constant voltage . This is probably not a bad thing as it does give a lot of options. Anyway I'll keep looking and going on with my gen...
