Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Ouch! I kinda know the feeling.
You already know what you've got and what it should be. Just a matter of bighting the bullet and getting it done.

One other option you have is to turn it into a Star/Delta configuration. This gives you the ability to change from Star to Delta and back again by moving a couple of links, no having to have two seperate stators.
You seem to be a fairly inventive so even if Star is the configuration of choice it would be interesting to try out Delta to observe it's charestics for yourself.

The other thing is that rather than repairing a stuff-up you are improving by making your project more versitile.

The repair will be quicker but maybe the upgrade would be more fun?
It's just a thought.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and post a pic or three when its humming.

was working fine... til the smoke got out.
