Side view of dual stator with floating indtrial fan hub Modified F&P agitator with mower recoil spring , turns the blades back 1 turn to overcome clogging on start up.. ![]() Shows reciol hub fitted to floating hub , both ofset and tail angle are adjustable . ![]() The tools that i have made to easily make dual stator wind gens using as much of the F&P as i can . Saw bores out bearing hub to press fit into 3 1/2" water pipe , then face seal side identical to stator side , bore out spline to fit shaft all using a drill to drive the tools. ![]() ABS Pipe I am using for blades , Gave Bruce a length to try , he has just mounted them and starting to see how they perform . ![]() Seeley mount I have just built , using same bearing hub and can mount a F&P on the front if power is available , drive plate is yet to be finnished , uses the F&P dog assy and will pick up the drive spigots in the seeley. ![]() Side view. Old sat dish mount modified for my solar panel , had 2 one blew of a make shift stand the other day in 50 klm winds , I almost cried PhillM ...Oz Wind Engineering..Wind Turbine Kits 500W - 5000W ~ F&P Dual Kits ~ GOE222Blades- Voltage Control Parts ------- Tower kits |

The first and third pictures looks like a space craft in a hangar (big fun of sci-fi movies). I like your work (and your solar panel ![]() Hobbit name: Togo Toadfoot of Frogmorton Elvish name: Mablung Miriel Beyound Arduino Lang |

G'day phill, I do like your idea of varying the pitch, though I'm thinking not only for overcoming cogging at startup but for extracting max power from lighter winds whilst still being able to do the same in a stronger blow. Unfortunately we mostly go for the latter with the blades in a inefficient stalled state most of the time. The longer blades some of the fellas are making will target those lighter winds and I agree their overall output will greatly improve. Still we can go better again with your variable pitch approach. A effective variable pitch prop seems a DIY impossibility with my resources. Still there is always hope, opportunity & inspiration often comes when we least expect it.. Is it possible to draw a rough sketch of your design with an explanation of its operation? Hay! Great workshop & specialised tool kit. was working fine... til the smoke got out. Lovely stuff,, I've been over to Phil's a few times, He's a very good machine'est(sp) . I'm sure with his brains and my encouragement, he'll put together some very good gear.. Bruce Bushboy |

Hi Gill , Yes the pitch can be variable but it has to be done manually which does give you the ability to fine tune . I built my windmill with the idea that if I can adjust,Blade pitch ,offset & tail angle for furling ,and the blades to be able to start rotating before engageing the generator and strong enough to handle a good blow it might be agood starting point as this is my first. Dont know how to draw on the repily box , it took me 1 day to work out picture down loads. Great score for the price. Still a bit if work to do on the mill I see, but progressing nicely. Solid but simple... I like that. Won't be long now.. was working fine... til the smoke got out. Cheers Gill _Cairns, FNQ |
