I finally obtained an F&P the other weekend, which I think from looking at the wiring will be an 80 series. On the stator there is three separate connections for different wires. The first is a small brass strip holding down three wires from the stator, the second is the 3 spade connectors for the Red D. Blue and Yellow power wires and the last is a small plastic tab which connects to a PCB and has the Black, Purple, L. Blue Grey and Orange wires. What do I do with these three connectors? Do I simply remove the wires or in the interests of balance, do I cut them off the stator body. Hoping these questions aren't too ignorant, it's just that I haven't sighted them on any of the photos I have seen of an F&P. Cheers.

The small plastic tab is part of the position sensor used when the F&P was the motor in a washing machine, I dont believe it has any useful purpose though you may like to just pull it off and put it aside, perhaps someone has a use for it, maybe as a tachometer sensor?

The metal tab is the common connection of the three phases, every one of the Red Blue and Yellow wires connects through its respective winding to this tab. It is the centre connection of a star configuration.

There is no need to cut any wires off for 'balance' as this part does not rotate, if I understand your question.

Thanks KiwiJohn.
I'll remove the sensor PCB and the plastic around it as it protrudes a bit. And I'll leave everything else well alone.
Cheers
