Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I stumbled across these the other day. I can't find
any info by google. Someone out there may find
something to do with them.

Usually aircraft and vehicle generators/alternators are designed to be minimum size and weight, and operate at very high rotational speeds, efficiency is never a priority.

These machines are built to contain the very minimum of copper and iron. As a result they usually always require comparatively high mechanical drive power for the rated electrical output. High drive power is never a problem with an aircraft engine!

While an aircraft generator COULD be used, it might not always be the best solution. Something that operates at lower speed and with higher efficiency may be more desirable.

Cheers,  Tony.
