Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I Would like to see more info on solar heating/water heating ect.
I live in a valley on the north side facing the sun, We can get temps as low as -40f/c . But when the sun shines on the bay window I can mesure Temputers as hight as 100f/36c degrees. I would like to find a way to take more advantage of this. most sunny days we can turn off the heat and the house will remain at room temputer for the better part of the day. once the sun is going down we have turn on the heat. I would like to store some of this heat to use into the evening. Any thoughts would sure be appreciated

Hi Ron

Yeah I hope to add a lot more solar related stuff to the web site in the future. Until then, use Google to search for "passive solar heating".
There are a lot of ways to save the days heat. Concrete floors and walls work great to absorb heat during the day and releasing it at night. Put a concrete wall behind a sheet of glass, so it heats up during the day, then at night it can heat the air that is circulated around the house.
